Icon to Any is a program that converts Windows icons and cursors to a graphic format.
The application is very easy to use, all you have to do is select the files to be converted and choose the options that you like. When you open the program, a pop up appears with a multitude of icons and cursors, and if you click one of them, it automatically redirects you to a website. The formats available for converting are BMP, WBMP, JPEG, PNG, GIF, ICO, CUR, TIF, PSD, XPM, XBM and RC. This application is very useful if you want to use icons or specific cursors on your website, because it allows you to modify them however you like. The program’s best feature is its ability to change the resolution or the color of an icon or cursor. You can set it to have the same resolution as the source file, or you can choose between resolutions from 16x16 to 256x256. After you chose the format you like, you can check an option that uses the resolution’s info for the file naming. The color depth can also be as the source file, or you can set it monochrome, 16 colors, 256 colors or true colors. You have to specify the background color to replace the transparent color of an icon.
To sum it up, this application is a good-working converter with lots of helpful functions. The only thing that I consider to be a drawback is the fact that you can’t maximize the program, which can be quite exhausting. The interface could have been a bit more attractive, too. Except these two remarks, I think this tool is worth trying.
